Each day, the Cathedral Basilica guides to its front steps those seeking spiritual guidance, inspiration and hope. With its soaring painted mosaic ceilings and stained glass windows, it inspires thousands of visitors annually who simply wish to experience its stunning artistic and architectural beauty.
For the Cathedral to continue to meet the spiritual needs of those in the community and remain an enduring symbol of our valley's historic past, we must see to the needs of this extraordinary building. Since the restoration of nearly fifteen years ago, the Cathedral has suffered the ravages of time, weather and air pollution and major restoration projects remain incomplete
The San Jose Cathedral Foundation is committed to preserving the legacy and fabric of this historic landmark for future generations. We invite you to join us in this effort.
If you would like to learn more about the Cathedral Basilica’s legacy, architecture and sacred treasures, tours for groups of 10 or more can be arranged for your organization, club or school. Docents are also available in the Cathedral on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays, between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. for drop-in visitors with limited time.
