The perfumed Chrism of our anointing is a sign of God’s blessing. It is, for most Catholics, the completion of the Sacraments of Initiation. Rather than being a “graduation,” it is the entryway into full participation as an adult in the Church. It is an opportunity for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to make us responsible, Christ-like Children of God in the Spirit of Christ.

Preparation for Confirmation

The Confirmation Preparation Program for baptized teens ages 15 – 17 years and/or in grades 10 -12, offers a great opportunity for our youth to meet other young people and share about their faith experiences and needs together. Sessions are conducted weekly and begin in September.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is administered during the spring in the weeks following Easter.

Registration is done in our parish office and requires that a certificate of Baptism be presented. Please call 408-283-8100, extension 2200 for fee, schedule and registration information.

The person not yet baptized nor who has made First Communion, would join the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

High School Students who are sophomore through senior years (ages 15-18) have the opportunity to meet other young people and share in a casual but focused weekly group to prepare for Confirmation.

  • Three (3) retreat experiences and community service will also play a part in the Confirmation process.
  • Class day is Sunday, beginning mid-September with gatherings from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.
  • The course lasts approximately 10 months.
  • Attending 11:30 Mass as a group is scheduled occasionally during the course. Classroom space limited.

Parents: Please bring student to enrollment for a conference with catechist.

Registration Fee: Please contact the office in advance for this information.

Proof of Baptism:  If the student is baptized, please present his or her Baptism certificate at the time of registration. If not Baptized, we ask that you please present the certificate of birth. (R.C.I.A.) Any adult, 19 years or older, interested in exploring the Catholic faith to prepare for the sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation is welcome.
