Dear Cathedral Parish Community, Each year in the April/May timeframe, Bishop Cantú, in consultation with the members of the Clergy Personnel Board, makes assignments of priests to different parishes and ministries based on the needs in our Diocese. I have been informed by Bishop Cantú through the Clergy Personnel Board representative, that Fr. Prosper Molengi is being reassigned from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph as Parochial Vicar at St. Lucy Parish in Campbell. I personally want to say thank you to Fr. Prosper for his part in sharing the ministry here at the Cathedral Parish for the last four years. I know that our Cathedral community will miss him. With this change, Bishop Cantú has assigned Fr. Andrey Garcia as the Parochial Vicar here at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph Parish. Fr. Andrey is being transferred from his current ministry at St. Lucy Parish in Campbell. There is a farewell potluck on June 25 after the 1PM Mass for Fr. Prosper. We will let you know in the weeks ahead on plans to welcome Fr. Andrey in July. In the meantime, please keep both Fr.
